Need a morning blast of energy? I know I sure do some days. Rather than reach for caffeine, however, this astounding juice is full of all the nutrients you need for that get-up-and-go feeling! The key is to minimise the fruit and maximise the vegetables.
Juice 1 small carrot (scrubbed, topped, and tailed), one very small beet root (scrubbed, topped, and tailed), 1-2 stalks celery, 1/4 small fennel bulb, 1/3 large lemon, small handful mint or parsley, a thick slice of fresh ginger, 1/2 large cucumber, 1 tiny apple, and a couple big handfuls of leafy greens. As long as it's organic, there's no need to peal anything--just give it a good rinse and juice away! You should get about 400-500ml total juice when all is said and done.
I often drink this along with a litre of water in the morning and feel brilliant until noon, when I start to get peckish. But you can also nicely combine this juice with a big handful of raw nuts or seeds if you want a more filling (but still blood-sugar balancing) breakfast.
